I am going to go and meet personally with April Charney. After WaMu screwed me out of my house through improper paperwork, I now have a new mission in life ... one the mortgage companies are not going to like.

Society will regulate itself if legislatures refuse to, and civil law is one time-honored venue. The Forbes link is instructive (first one in the last sentence), where Deutsche Bank oversaw a pool of loans that bought a mortgage after the borrower defaulted. That is not allowed, and Charney is challenging a foreclosure accordingly. If bad practices improve because of such suits, the public interest has been served. One person can indeed make a difference.
