If you’ve been on Twitter and wondered what the hash mark in front of words are about, click on one. They are key words. The tweets from everyone that use the key word (with the hash mark) are grouped together and you can read them all on the page for that key word.

The introduction of Google Buzz, a new social media feature of gmail accounts, has raised privacy concerns. A Complaint filed with the FTC and a class action suit filed in California are the first shots fired in the battle.

The blood bank, which relies entirely upon volunteer donors, is always trying to boost participations with raffles and other promotions. There are plenty of us who would gladly pay in blood for a couple of quiet hours every now and again when we could recline in peace and read blogs and tweets.

Julia and Julie: Mastering the Art of Blogging.

Julie encountered every last frustration, disappointment and roadblock bloggers typically face and overcame them all. During that year, she conquered discouragement dished out by friends and family while steadily growing in knowledge, skill, fortitude and character. She managed to steel herself to work through tasks that had seemed insurmountable — like tossing live lobsters into boiling water. And there were more than a few failed attempts; some of them landing on the floor. And on the last day, she deboned the dreaded duck.

Lawyers.com is a highly reputable lawyer selection web site, operated by Lexis-Nexis. That organization was unaware of the ploy until it was reported in the AVVO blog. Conrad Saam, who posted the story on AVVO, was unaware that the ads, which appeared as tweets on Twitter, did not originate from Lawyers.com. So we were all fooled.
